Whitefriars children's Nursery ltd has been established since 1988 providing excellent quality childcare 51 weeks of the year in Penwortham, near Preston. we offer childcare from the age of 6 months - 4 years
We feel that the early years are extremely important and we aim to provide a range of experiences, opportunities and activities that help your child to develop to the best of his or her ability. Our aims at the Nursery are to ensure your child has the best start in life by learning in a safe environment while enjoying every minute.
Our Mission Statement
It is our mission to provide high quality Childcare for all children in our care. All our staff aim to provide a welcoming, stimulating environment where each child feels at home and settles well.
The staff pride themselves on keeping up to date with training by attending courses so that they are fully aware what is expected of them.
The children learn best in a fun, and friendly environment, we provide permanent provisions around the nursery to give all children the opportunity to build on their skills and increase independence and self esteem.
We strive to help all children reach their full potential and give them a good foundation for starting school.
Lancashire Quality Award
It was an honour to be awarded the Lancashire Quality Award in March 2014 after working through the 8 modules as a team over a 2 year period. The Quality Award provides an opportunity for practitioners to spend focused time together looking at what they do every day and considering which parts work well and which could be further developed.
It is an overarching systematic tool for self evaluation and reflection that will embrace all areas within the setting, from leadership and management to daily routines. The Lancashire Quality Award is underpinned by the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Quality Improvement Principles.

"When looking for a nursery I wanted a small, child focussed, family feel nursery and that is exactly what Whitefriars is. I myself went to Whitefriars nursery and had so many happy memories there I wanted my daughter to have the same experience. All the staff at Whitefriars nursery take the time to get to know your child as an individual and are so attentive and caring; my daughter loves going to nursery and her days are full of fun activities which have accelerated her progress and development.
